Why does it seem we're always wishing people well, when we don't want them to go? Hoping for their happiness often when we have little for ourselves... Why so rarely do things go according to plan... at least according to our plan... the one where we get to be involved in the happy ending. Poets and dreamers tend to risk their hearts, their lives, their...

how can a kiss be... too little, too much?
I'm fallin softly, longing to touch
then I... I run away home
guess I'll spend one more night on my own
but as I wake, that kiss lingers on
how can a kiss be... too little, too much?
(still a work in progress, but I like it... think it may actually be a song once I'm...

Love at first sight? Romantic? I think not. If only about the sight, the look, the "packaging" ...what love could there be? Why not a love at "no sight"... Only truly "seeing" someone... their spirit, their humor, their mind, their strength, their weakness, their heart... that is love.

Looks fade or change. Being there for someone at their worst and vice versa. Loving with no conditions. This I've learned is true as well.

Got to see my ma for a bit today, she had to leave too soon though (likes to be home before dark... especially on a holiday weekend) Relaxing after my day yesterday... yesterday I had like the longest day that ended on an awesome note. Since we had the holiday off, my day job made it mandatory for us to work Sunday... not happy, but...

I know the difference between you need me and you just need someone.

I believe there is often nobility and purity in the nature of animals. They have no gift for or tendency towards deceit, they do not waste or take more than they need, they live in harmony with Nature rather than destroying their own habitat, even in brutality they take no joy and have no cruelty. Perhaps our humanity lies in being more like animals, not...

A lot to be said about living simply. We humans like to complicate, push for more, it seems never enough. We only stop when the damage has been done then realize what we have done.
kguy2k:
Yes, we want too much, use too much, waste too much.  It's why I'm a fan of reducing our "carbon footprint" and learning more about the tiny home movement that's really taking off.  People choosing ultra-efficient small living spaces to save on buying costs, utilities, and our environment.  It's an idea that just makes sense, and at a time when the world could use a lighter load.  We've moved so far from nature and community.  We've lost touch with each other and ourselves.  We know more in this information age than we've ever known yet we understand nothing.  We are all about quantity and volume, and nothing about quality and value.  Not in our business, not in our foods, not our lives, not in our relationships.  It's tragic, we're all starving at a buffet without substance...

(For those who would speak honestly despite consequence)

Tell our history,
Teach us,
Inspire us.

Make us feel

Hope, Joy, Love
Doubt, Despair, Pain
Confusion

I was born in a time
when words mattered.

One's word was not
given lightly

as mine is not.

I speak plainly,
perhaps too plainly.

I may not fit in today's world
of expedience,
of untruths and half-truths.

Words tossed...

Life's way too short for hate... Hate is the prison you chain yourself into for what somebody else did. Damned if I will hate somebody and let them steal even a moment more of my life they don't deserve. If you've grown to hate somebody, it's way beyond time to leave and get that poison out of your soul...

FERAL

silvery disc
masked by thin clouds slowly sliding
past and through each other

muted glowing halo shining opaque
I feel it
pulling inside

passion, hunger
senses keen in painful clarity.
world breathed in.

running
through thick trees of dimmed landscape
sliding gliding between around
over under roots and bramble
fiery fluid form

scent is caught!
maddening need and heady aroma
silvered still shot world...

If it's only about you or just a show for others... it's not love. Love is being fully for another, without expectation or jealousy or anger. It is not a distraction while you decide your direction... It is both the decision and direction.

midnight:
Beautiful
kguy2k:
Thank you.  I think we've forgotten the best parts of love... the caring little things.  Holding hands, playful roughhousing, a caress or gentle touch, the note you leave to let them know you're thinking of them when you can't be together, a sweet kiss... now people meet as strangers, expecting everything, only to have it mean nothing.People only care about themselves these days, they get into relationships like a line at a fast food place... if it takes too long or they don't get what they want right away, they're just gone.  Nobody gets into relationships and marriage with the future in mind, they are always looking for something better or for everything to be easy.  When you see people together for 25 or 30 yrs, it's not because it was easy every day... but when it wasn't, they both rolled up their sleeve and did the work.  They talk and listen, they argue and forgive, they remember and don't give up.
