The Sony a7III is my first full frame camera and I love it. I've had it for years, but only recently have I begun to really pour some time and energy into using it in a more professional setting. I've done a bit of freelance fun stuff, but recently had a professional booking for marketing and promoting an start-up automotive repair company and a model, for a personal project, and a request to work on a flower catalog and some product photography. I hope I am up to the task, I am still very much, an amateur. I was also asked to submit my work to a photography contest and am working on getting that ready. I am hoping to do more with my work this coming year.
My kit changed a lot this year:
I ended up getting the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG DN macro because I love the macro world. Lots of flower photography. Love it, super sharp. I also ended up purchasing a Sigma Art 85mm f/1.4 portrait lens. Incredible lens. Super sharp, clean and bokeh is rich. Love the build as well. It's also a really great portrait lens.
Also added a Sony 35mm f/1.4 GM lens. My favorite 35mm I have ever used. This is a such a great lens and I hope to use it more in my people photoshoots.
Sony 24-105mm f4 (the jack of all trades lens, I use it a lot for poor man's macro, landscape, travel, walk around. It's kind of a do it all lens, super sharp, especially at the upper end. My heaviest lens and thinking of selling it, but it is just so versatile, especially outdoors.
Sony Zeiss 55mm f1.8 (My newest addition, super sharp and small lens. Has such great character. I'm using much more often for my go to for street, travel, and photoshoots.)
Tamron 70-180mm f2.8 (This was more an impulse buy, but it's a great sharp zoom. Gives me that extra reach for portraits and I use it a lot on cats, lol! Really nice color and light-weight. I wasn't sure about the focal length but it's really great.)
Lastly, I purchased got some backgrounds from Kate Backgrounds. Hope to test those out. I'm not a studio photographer, I like natural light and being able to move around, but I thought I would at least teach myself to use lights and flash. So I bought some lights and a flash. We will see how it goes. I'm really into how others have used lighting and I wan to start incorporating it more in my work. At the end of it all though I am still very tempted to just sell most of everything off and keep it very simple, may upgrade my camera and stick with two maybe three lenses.
