Thanks to @rare for including me in the holiday questionnaire going around! I've been sick the last week or so (seems to happen every year at about this time!), but better late than never! Let's do this!

1. How was your Thanksgiving and what are you thankful for?
My Thanksgiving was quite nice, thank you! I got to spend it with some new friends and...

If you get a text like this one, it's a scam. The link will prompt you to enter your personal information, which will then be used by crooks. This time of year, in this time of giving, those who aren't as savvy may be particularly vulnerable to this scam, especially with those who are accustomed to sending gifts for the holidays. This is my first proper snow in about three years. I moved back home to Massachusetts (just a few hours' drive from Boston) a few months ago, and it was so cool to finally frolic in the snow again. If you're from New England and guessed November 15th for the first snow of the season, congratulations! I was off by 5 days, having guessed the 20th.

So I finally did it. I booked an appointment with a therapist. Mental health is wicked important and issues can be felt by people of any stature in life, even among those having a successful career with a decent income, such as myself. My mental health story is very long, but I'd be willing to share highlights if anyone wants to hear.

We all have...

@corico I have avoided it for over 30 years. It's never too late to find help in your journey to mental recovery and health.

Thank you @lisaberry for tagging me!

Sweet over sour (I've always had a sweet tooth)

Treat over trick (Who doesn't love a tasty treat)

Witches over vampires (I live in Massachusetts, which is a very witch-centric, pagan-friendly place; plus, Salem)

Candy apple over caramel apple (I didn't know there was a difference until recently)

Haunted house over costume party

Scary stories over horror movies

Ghosts

I was just yards away from a busy fall harvest festival, and yet I had an entire nature trail all to myself! I've always had a unique desire and ability to step away from the crowds to find my own bliss. People come and go, and sometimes I feel like a stranger in my own home. Yet, I also feel like I know my own

Thank you @rare!

Here are my answers to the new and exciting summertime questionnaire!

1. Who's ready for fall and cooler weather?
I'm definitely ready! I can't handle the heat very well, and this year, I'll be experiencing my first New England fall in 25 years!
2. Your favorite 2 seasons?
Spring is my definite favorite. The other is probably fall, but early fall.

I'm not much of a fan of living in the desert, but I do enjoy the extra greenery that blooms during the summer monsoon season as a result of the heavy rains. Here are a few photos from a casual stroll around my neighborhood. I even made a friend along the way.

I love my job. It's my dream job. But I had to move to a strange place in the middle of a desert to obtain it. Right now, work is waning and our program is slowly trending toward dormancy. The last year or so, I was feeling quite homesick, having ended a long-term long-distance relationship and not having many friends in the midst of the...

I am in a long-distance relationship with an amazing, beautiful, strong young woman, who happens to suffer from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and a whole bunch of related ailments. Basically, her body's collagen production is crap, and she gets regular dislocations, which in themselves are very painful. But she also deals with chronic nerve pain, arthritis in her hands, and frequent infections. The last month or...

My dad passed away a while ago, but I like to take Father's Day to remember how amazing he was. He was creative, artistic, and hard-working. He was the gentlest, merriest soul who always sought to treat his friends like family, and his loyalty was incredible. As a kid, we would enjoy watching wrestling, bowling, and fishing together. We learned how to paint together. I...
